“本片从“我家后院”的那片“百草园”开始讲起，记录了城市中最常见的昆虫——蚂蚁和它们的生存智慧。影片分别从两个方面介绍了小蚂蚁的“大智慧”。 

首先，总体介绍了蚂蚁家族的特征，从蚂蚁家族的缜密分工、灵敏的嗅觉和有趣的视觉功能开始探究，为观众展现了蚂蚁利用气味传递重要信息，以及擅长使用天空景致来辨别方向的“智能导航”本领。 

其次，影片着重探究了蚂蚁与蚜虫的共生现象，即蚂蚁放牧，为观众展示蚂蚁还是名副其实的昆虫牧者的神奇现象。 

" Starting with the "Herb Garden" in "the protagonist’s backyard", this documentary records the survival intelligence of ants, the most common insects in the city, whose great wisdom is introduced from two aspects. 

First, the film provides an overview about the characteristics of the ant family in general. The study starts from their thorough division of labor, delicate sense of smell, and interesting visual functions. It shows the audience that ants communicate important messages through scents, and can "navigate smartly" by skillfully using sky views to determine directions. 

Second, the film focuses on the symbiotic relationship between ants and aphids, “ants’ herding”, explaining to the audience the magical phenomenon of “ant herders”.
